At inception, Pace Cetters’ focus was primarily networking within the downtown area. Over the years, however, the focus has broadened. Commitment to the community through support of charitable organizations has become an important component of Pace Cetters, concentrating primarily on women’s and children’s issues.
At the beginning of each calendar year, the Pace Cetters Board selects the organizations the Club will sponsor through a variety of support and fundraising activities, from walk-a-thons to community service projects to member luncheon raffles.
This will be Pace Cetters’ 8th year working at Floyd Middle School in Cobb County. To begin with, the school wanted a garden where the children could participate. With the help of Goldman Sachs in 2012, the raised garden was established, and the herbs and vegetables were planted. Pace Cetters’ job since has been to help maintain the garden and get it ready for spring planting. This year Pace Cetters had the exciting opportunity to build a greenhouse for the students. In addition to the gardens and greenhouse, Pace Cetters has also helped to maintain and plant shrubs and flowers in the teachers’ garden area. See below for posts and photos from this year’s and previous events!
The mission of the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA) is to increase awareness and educate Georgia’s women and their families as well as the healthcare community about risks, symptoms, and treatment of ovarian cancer leading to earlier detection. For the past 6 years, Pace Cetters has taken part in the GOCA Teal Trot in September. This year’s event will take place on September 16th in beautiful Chastain Park.
